Say what??!! Girl, you crazy. I literally told my coach she was insane and that this was ludicrous.
They paraded us out. That's me on the right...representing CrossFit I-35 very well I might add. I'm pretty sure I'm at the end because I was the heaviest athlete. But I was doing it.
My coach Cynthia brought a CrossFit I-35 Barbell Club tank top for me. Size large. One boob might fit in a size large. I put it on. To represent. I did not want to wear it. All the rolls were out.
I'm glad I didn't think about my sports bra that day. I look so hodgepodgey. It would have completely distracted me. And I had way better socks with me, but I had my knee taped and had to show I wasn't hiding a spring in my thigh or something. Don't get me wrong. I still loved my socks. They said "all skill. No luck." A Christmas gift from my sister in law Renee.
My coach Scott treated me like a legit athlete. They joked with me and remained themselves and authentic in their relationship with me as they coached me through all six lifts. I think that helped my nerves. It was just focus. I knew what I had to do, I kept replaying the lifts over in my head and I f*%^ing did it. I did it. I put my fitness on display. Rolls and all.
No one cared about my rolls. I sat on that bench in the front of the gym with my rolls out in between my lifts. No quick rush to my jacket to cover up. No one cared.
They did care about how strong I was. I completed all of my lifts. 38k, 40k, 42k on my snatch. (PR!!). 45k, 48k, 52k on my clean and jerk. (PR!!). I got the gold medal because I was the only athlete in my age and weight class.
Still feels awesome.

Great job!!
